Viewing a Shuttle launch is not quite as easy as it may seem, so if you are planning your visit to Florida to take in a Shuttle launch, be warned, it may go wrong!  Check the launch schedule web page.  Make sure the launch is not towards the end of your visit incase of a possible delay.  This tends to happen quite a lot and don't be surprised if the launch date is changed or scrubbed altogether. You may plan your holiday around a launch and be very disappointed.  You may not see it.

A limited number of viewing area tickets are available from the Kennedy Space Center web site and can be booked in advance.  If you are unable to get tickets, many people stop on the side of the road to watch but you will have to be there early because it will be very busy and roads will become jammed.  The most popular off-site viewing locations are:-

I would suggest you visit Florida, have a great time and if you are lucky enough to be there when a launch is scheduled, go and see it.  If you must plan to see a launch.....Good luck!!!!!!!!
